I must admit that it has taken some time for me to hop on the Elle Varner train, but after being pulled in by “Refill,” things have turned completely around. As she continues to prep the release of her debut, Perfectly Imperfect, Elle has unveiled it’s next single, “I Don’t Care”—and it is an undeniable gem.

Marrying flawlessly nostalgic R&B production with Elle’s bluesy vocals, “I Don’t Care” is Perfectly Imperfect‘s strongest release yet. Instead of losing herself in the club-ready trends of contemporary mainstream music, Ms. Varner has opted to develop a sound that is not only distinctive, but well-suited for her voice and artistry. Needless to say, her debut LP is one that I am anticipating.
