Making profound statements regarding the best of (…) is something I like to do more often than not. It adds more perspective and distinction when discussing an artist.  Case in point, Lykee Li’s latest release, a cover of Fleetwood Mac‘s “Silver Springs” is not only one of her best recordings ever, but one of the most impressive covers that I’ve ever heard. The Swedish indie-pop hybrid excels at  a moment that could’ve  made for potential disaster. Her vocals are forcefully aware and intensely vulnerable. What’s most appealing about Lykke Li is her ability to commit and fully dissolve into her art. The cover is apart of Just Tell Me That You Want Me: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac due August 14.
