Unlike any other artist to surface in 2011, Emeli Sandé has left a truly indelible mark on my passion for music–sure, there is plenty of talent out there, but Emeli distinguishes herself as a vocal, lyrical and musical firestorm. As I’ve previously expressed, Ms. Sandé needs no assistance from trendy producers or a gimmicky, attention-grabbing image. Contrasting from much of the competition, Emile Sandé only needs what she has been born with.
As I took my first hit of her new single, “Daddy,” all of these thoughts returned me. With her debut single, “Heaven,” being such a tough act to follow, “Daddy” surprisingly lives outside of the shadow of its predecessor. In just 3:07, the world has been provided with yet another stunning introduction to the artistry of Emile Sandé. Judging by the major success of “Heaven” in the UK, its clear that I’m not the only one who’s hungover from Emile Sandé.
And it continues…
