NEW MUSIC| Solange – “Favors”

Solange is just as unexpected as she is needed. As she is in the process of recording the follow-up to the classic SoL-AngeL and The  Hadley St. Dreams, the lyrical virtuoso though it was the right time to share an unreleased track. ‘Favors’ was recorded four years ago and of course it is better than anything you’ve ever heard.  For someone whose often criticized for their voice or lack thereof, Solange does the most with what she has. While others focus on what she is not capable of I’ll continue to focus on what she is capable of-making insanely brilliant music.

If I were to pluck out one of the most significant aspects of my deep admiration for him, it would be the  distinctive, one-of-a-kind quality of his personality and artistry. BADUZIM: REVISITED

A couple of weeks ago, we posted a engaging clip of Lauryn Hill speaking about the creative origin of her iconic debut.  As a continuation of its ”Classic Albums by Classic Artists Series,” Reebok unites with Erykah Badu to provide a personal testimony of the birthing process of one of modern music’s most influential works, Baduizm. Ms. Badu speaks about everything from the album’s influence of African culture to her early memories of collaborating with The Roots and D’Angelo. With Erykah Badu, 2:15 goes a long way.

Even after the news of her tragic passing, Amy Winehouse‘s name remained plagued by the memories of the personal struggles she experienced over the years. While none of us can deny being witnesses to the public troubles that Amy endured, we also cannot deny that there was one force that was her escape to bliss. Her music.

As a preview of what’s to come from the legendary Tony Bennett’s  new album, studio footage from he and Amy’s recording sessions has been released. The clip not only demonstrates just how much of a rare talent Amy Winehouse was, but that music was her life. The happiness beaming from Amy’s soul in this video is simply touching.
