Everything this phenom of a woman touched was a moment to say the least. What she created will long stand the test of time. She was a beacon of pride, freedom, and soul. As she was one of the most impactful voices of the Civil Rights Movement, her music provided a great soundtrack for an era in time where music was one of the only positive treasures Blacks had. Her songs were lightness to the darkness.
