The Top 11 Beyoncé Performances YOU Need To See…

Last weekend,  I had a literal two-day debate via Facebook on the international megastar that we all know as Miss Beyoncé Knowles. The debate sparked when I posted a status about my Mother asking me if I thought Beyoncé had reached her peek one day–my response was simple, “You can’t kill The Queen!” and some of the arguments against that statement on that status inspired the post. This is a response to many of the things that came up in that debate. Please enjoy!

Why is Beyoncé the Queen? She has the total package. Vocalist. Dancer. Artist. THE BEST FEMALE ENTERTAINER OF OUR GENERATION! I’m not going to go into depth with this, but instead prove my point through videos. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section!

11. “Halo” (acoustic version at hospital in Singapore, 2009)

My first proof of evidence that Beyoncé is a real vocalist. TENDER, BEAUTIFUL, FLAWLESS vocals–all acoustically! Perfection.

10. “Ring The Alarm/Deja Vu” (World Music Awards, 2006)

This performance is beyond AMAZING. Taking notes from her idols Michael and Janet Jackson, Bey puts on a GREAT show. Do you hear the audience? The announcer got it right when he called her “The Queen of Pop and R&B!”

09. “Deja Vu” (BET Awards, 2006)

I didn’t want to post a performance of the same song twice, BUT, we can’t mention Beyoncé’s best without adding this one. Not only is it an epic moment between her and hubby Jay-Z, but it demonstrates Bey’s glamorous image and incomparable performing style.

08. “Me, Myself and I” (The Beyoncé Experience, 2007)

Bey proved that she is not just a pretty girl with a pretty voice in this performance. She brought on the soul, got a little raw and belted those notes out.

07.   “Look To Your Path”  (Academy Awards, 2005)

STUNNING. Unlike the performance above, Bey shows off her incredible abilities as a technical singer. Her voice is so clear and doesn’t miss a note. AND, it should also be noted this song is in FRENCH and she is singing like it’s her own.

06.  ”If I Were A Boy/ You Oughta Know” (Grammys, 2010)

How could anyone forget this night? Bey took 6 Grammys home and re-declared herself as a force. This performance is the best of the song–her vocals are strong and emotional. We also get a hint of artistry and versatility with her aggressive cover of Alanis Morrissette’s classic “You Oughta Know.”

05. “Sweet Dreams Medley” (I Am…Yours,2009)

With a hoarse voice, Beyoncé manages to deliver a flawless ballad-version of her hit “Sweet Dreams,” while nailing a version of her signature “Dangerously In Love” AND a cover of the classic “Sweet Love” by the one-and-only Anita Baker. Wow.

04. National Anthem, (Super Bowl, 2004)

Bey doesn’t disappoint with her rendition of the National Anthem–elegant and well-sung, it stands out from the other renditions that have been performed over the years.

03.  ”Crazy In Love” (The Beyoncé Experience, 2007)

Taken from Ms. Knowles’ classic concert DVD, The Beyoncé Experience, this performance of “Crazy In Love” champions the others as the strongest and most energetic. During this era, Bey was so bold and fearless, and it comes through this performance. As a bonus, the cover of “Crazy” can’t get any better.

02. “Dangerously In Love” (Grammys, 2004)

This was Bey’s first BIG night as a solo artist. And, she showed that she deserved the five awards she won that night. She owned the song. The riffs, runs and big notes prove that once again, she is a vocalist.

01. “Single Ladies” (VMAs, 2009)

Closing her career-defining year, Bey ended it big with this performance. “Single Ladies” brought even more success and notoriety;  after performing it 1,229,000 times, she put a real cap on it with this. It is the QUEEN of all “Single Ladies” performances and oozes living legend status.  Even with all of the dancers in the background, none dance like her and have that Beyoncé flare. This performance emphasizes why there is no other and never will be.

*Bey’s performance with Prince from the 2004 Grammys is one of her best and one of THE best Grammys performances. There are no clips on Youtube. Please know that this would be very high on the list….

So, there you have it. There are more that can be added to the list, but I feel these are the best to show. But, feel free to disagree with me and continue to debate. We love hearing from you guys!

“You act like I just got up in it/Been that no.1 diva in this game for a minute…”

SOUND OFF.
